about
// the space
lokaalhost:22 is a community makerspace in Amsterdam. We operate out of Lokaal 432, a room inside the former Olympus school building at Erich Salomonstraat 432.
The building has been repurposed as a cultural and creative hub. Our corner houses workbenches, soldering stations, 3D printers, a collection of microcontrollers, and whatever else members drag in.
// the name
localhost:22 — the SSH port on your own machine. We took it
literally: a lokaal (Dutch for “room” or “classroom”) that you can
connect to. Hence lokaalhost:22.
// the people
Software devs, hardware tinkerers, artists, curious minds. No membership fees, no gatekeeping — just show up and make things.
